Fee-For-Service/On-Call MA Crisis Clinician
Reports to: Director of Emergency Services, Shift Supervisor
FLSA Status: Exempt
Job Summary:
The Fee-For-Service MA Crisis Clinician will provide comprehensive emergency mental health and substance abuse evaluations to individuals and families in crisis.
Essential Functions:
- Be available to respond to a request for an evaluation within a 30 minutes response time through the entire scheduled shift.
- Provide psychiatric and substance abuse evaluation of individuals and families in crisis in community, clinic and hospital settings.
- Provide crisis intervention services including crisis case management and short-term crisis counseling as follow-up from initial evaluation.
- Maintain linkages with specific community agencies by providing documented customer service and problem resolution.
- Provide information on treatment and referral services.
- Maintain necessary documentation and records in accordance with program requirements.
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of managed care and health insurance systems; provide other clinicians with managed care information and resources pertinent to the crises being managed.
- Remain alert at all times throughout the scheduled shift.
- Attendance at supervision and staff meetings.
- Perform all duties in accordance with the agency's policies and procedures.
- Strictly follow all agency Performance Standards.

Qualification/Education/Experience/Personal Characteristics:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling Education, Counseling Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling or a related counseling field.
- At least two years of experience with target population (inpatient, outpatient, residential acceptable).
- Must possess excellent assessment and interviewing skills.
- Must adhere to professional ethics.
- Ability to develop and maintain satisfactory working relationships with employees and providers.
- Must have working knowledge of current version of the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.

- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to read and speak English.
- High energy level, superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere.
- Sensitivity to the needs of the population.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Must have valid driver's license and access to auto.
