Fall 2009 Appeal
Job losses and the threat of state budget cuts are putting people at risk now more than ever. With over 1000 staff and 100 sites in neighborhoods across Massachusetts, Advocates is uniquely poised to answer the call. You can help by making a financial donation now. Click here to read our recent letter to supporters and learn about many of the ways Advocates supports people across the state every day.
Internal Grant Program
The Internal Grant program fulfills a core mission of Advocates: encouraging people to take initiative to improve the quality of their own lives. The Internal Grant program funds requests from within the Advocates community to pursue arts, wellness and community enrichment activities. Support Advocates clients running a smoking cessation group; provide group home residents with a fitness club membership; plant the seed of an accessible vegetable garden for individuals in wheelchairs. With your support, the possibilities are endless.
IGive: $5,000 in 2009
Let's team up and raise $5,000 for Advocates this year. It's easy - just shop and Advocates receives up to 24 percent back from 700 top retailers. There's no additional cost for you. And we earn an extra $5 for each first time buyer. Beyond the financial support, each Advocates IGive shopper shows they believe in our work. Sign up now at www.igive.com.
Autism Alliance of MetroWest
With 1 out of 150 children now diagnosed with autism, families struggling with autism need more support than ever. Donate now and you can help Massachusetts families access information, support groups and recreation opportunities locally where they do best. The Autism Alliance is also committed to educating public safety personnel on autism-specific training.
The Fred Gaspari Fund for MetroWest Families
You can have a direct impact in the life of a family dealing with disabilities in your own neighborhood. The Fred Gaspari Fund grant program is an exciting new initiative spearheaded by the Advocates Family Alliance to help area residents provide in-home care for their loved ones with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Several grants of up to $500 each are awarded each year to area families and individuals in memory of Alfred Pasquale Gaspari, a longtime advocate with the former Southern Middlesex Association for Retarded Citizens (SMARC). Awards are granted for a variety of needs related to the family members’ care.
Calendar
Encourage the creative spirit by donating to our annual art calendar. The glossy calendar features original works of art and uplifting words from members of the Advocates community who participate in our annual Art Exhibit and Essay Contest. Over the years, the art calendar has become a highly anticipated tradition among clients, staff, friends, and supporters. But we can't publish it without your support.
